Explore New Jersey’s early history through its buildings! Every age leaves its mark on the landscape, and even in a rapidly developing area like New Jersey, there are still clear landmarks that speak of the settlement of the state in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. Join us for a fun, fast visual exploration of the impact of Swedish, Dutch, German, and English settlers in the state, and the subsequent evolution of those disparate groups into new Americans as expressed in their buildings. Janet W. Foster is a noted lecturer and author with a specialization in New Jersey’s architectural history. This program is co-sponsored by the Washington Township Historical Society. Registration is requested.
