The Discovery of a Masterpiece

Mallory Mortillaro serves as the Curator of Collections for the Hartley Dodge Foundation in Madison, NJ. While she was cataloging the artwork housed inside of the Hartley Dodge Memorial she uncovered a masterpiece that had been lost to the art world since the 1930’s. After a year of research the piece was authenticated as an official work by Auguste Rodin. Mallory will share the story of how a simple art cataloging project evolved into a search for a mysterious piece’s provenance, and became one of the biggest art finds in recent history. Qigong for Health & Immunity

In these live Zoom sessions, held each Wednesday at 1 p.m., instructor Stan Cohen will teach Qigong for Health and Immunity. Forms covered will include Swimming Dragon Qigong, 6 Circles, 8 Brocades and other form movements and skill building. Classes will run approximately 60 minutes. All skill and experience levels are welcome, including beginners. Please register so we can email you the link to join. A recording of the session will be made so participants can continue practicing on their own. Those not able to make the class time but who would like the recording should also register.

Lunch 'n' Learn: "Vitamin D Update - Geeking out on Vitamin D3"

Did you know that 70% of the US population suffer from inadequate Vitamin D levels once the days get shorter and colder?  We all know our bodies create Vitamin D from exposure to sunlight and it is good for bones. But there is new learning about this important vitamin's role in health. Vitamin D plays an important role in immune function as well as in fighting several chronic diseases. Gain an appreciation of the role Vitamin D can play in your health.
 
Catherine Segal R.Ph., M.B.A. is a board member for the Senior Resource Center and has presented several times on health and nutrition topics for us. She retired from the pharmaceutical industry where she was an expert in moving products from prescription-only status to over-the-counter status. She is a contributing author and reviewer for the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society's new book on Rx-to-OTC Switches published September 2021.
